Today as perhaps never before, there is a need to lead the church to an absolute and complete dependency upon our God for all provision to its needs. The deceptive marketing of a contagious system of self sufficiency has so permeated the heart and soul of man that it has found its way into the hearts and souls of believers and thus into the church. The result is the lack of submissiveness to the ownership of our Lord and provision born of the works of man, rather than God.
The believers relentless pursuit to do good things for God rather than allow God to work his best through them has led to a bowing down to false gods as their source of provision. The false god of credit has a choke hold on many of God’s children as well as many corporate churches. Literally billions of God’s dollars are being spent annually by the children of a Heavenly Father and their churches to service debt. As much as it might seem right in the beginning, from God’s perspective, the end does not justify the means.
We are witnessing the manifestation of His grace in churches as they are being set free from the bondages of debt, paying cash for land, buildings, and renovations. The spiritual growth in the area of increased faith in God as our provider at both the personal and corporate level is an intangible benefit of this experience. We are truly witnessing the freeing of the church for missions and ministries.
